The Stainless Steel Sphere during the construction.
| You can see the inside of the Stainless Steel Sphere (SSS) of Borexino (13.7m in diameter) by the 3m port. This is a moment during the assembly of the sphere. The assembly was carried out by Walter Tosto Serbatoi in 6 months. The sphere was built inside the Water Tank welding 93 steel sheets. On the left you can see the chief of the Walter Tosto crew, Valentino Desiderio. At this time a worked with the Princeton University and had the reponsability to follow the installation of the SSS. |
